DLA increases map production cycle, ensures safety in aircraft navigation

Maps guide us where we need to go, but they are only as current as their last update. For many years, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and DLA Distribution distributed updated map products to customers on a 168-day production cycle. That changed in February when the Federal Aviation Administration determined that timeline was too long and could lead to safety issues in aeronautical navigation.

DLA Distribution San Joaquin employees receive first dose of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine

Mission essential workers at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Joaquin, California, continue to work on-site during the pandemic, providing mission and COVID-19 support to the warfighter and federal partners. In a move toward normalcy, over 480 of them received their first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine March 16-18.

DLA Distribution undertakes ongoing improvement effort to Consolidation and Containerization point process

Employees at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution continue to identify opportunities to improve support to the Warfighter. In a recent continuous process improvement event the team made recommendations to reduce ineligible cargo sent to the consolidation and containerization points, and created a new partnership with U.S. Transportation Command to identify ineligible cargo destined for overseas shipment.

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, is supporting the federal response to COVID-19 by distributing vaccines and ancillary kits to troops at U.S. Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia in an on-going mission that began Feb. 8.

When cold water temperatures in the Corpus Christi Bay surrounding Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, proved too cold for endangered green sea turtles, DDCT team members joined community members to rescue them.
