With the snip of a large pair of ceremonial scissors, a new era was ushered in on Naval Air Station North Island, Coronado, California Feb. 22. The ribbon cutting ceremony officially recognized the opening of the Building 472 Kitting shop. While the ceremony was small, its importance to providing service to the nation’s warfighters is invaluable.

San Diego employee participates in the DoD Operation Warfighter Program

Armando “Bud” Budomo dedicated 21 years of his life to serving his country. The decision to retire from the United States Marine Corps was not one taken lightly, without thought to the future. After careful consideration, the newly retired major made the decision to apply to the Department of Defense Operation Warfighter program, with the goal of gaining experience to find a permanent home in the Department of Defense civilian workforce.

San Diego distribution center welcomes new commander

United States Navy Capt. John Soracco assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego, Calif., on July 31 with a traditional Navy ceremony officiated by Naval Supply Systems Command Global Logistics Support vice commander William E. Bickert, Jr. Soracco’s mother, Sara, assisted in pinning the Command Ashore Insignia on her sons uniform.
