DLA Troop Support enhances training through technology, innovation

Leaders from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Training Academy and DLA Information Operations, are delivering a more immersive educational experience to employees starting this week. Harnessing a combination of existing collaboration tools and a newly implemented open-source training software, instructors will provide “on-the-job,” on-demand training to meet the needs of geographically distributed employees in need of more localized training than other systems provide. “This will create a ‘ground level’ view of systems and tasks we do here at Troop Support,” Training Academy lead Joanne Anello said.

DLA Troop Support, Distribution provides meals to Louisiana food banks

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support worked with DLA Distribution to get more than 800,000 commercial shelf-stable meals to six different food banks in Louisiana in support of those still left without a home or electricity after Hurricane Ida.

DLA lab tests 3D scanner to inform agency use, improve coordination with partners

A 3D scanner, delivered to the Defense Logistics Troop Support Product Test Center the week of October 11, is undergoing testing to explore how the technology can improve agency operations. The machine may also help the PTC coordinate with customers, vendors and DLA teammates to better visualize parts and potential defects.

DLA provides food, medicine to incoming Afghans in support of Operation Allies Welcome

The Defense Logistics Agency provided more than $42 million worth of food and nearly 448,000 doses of 15 different vaccines to Afghan nationals in support of Operation Allies Welcome over the past three months, while standing by to provide additional assistance to U.S. Northern Command and other mission partners.

Clothing and Textiles helps Army get new female improved hot weather uniforms to recruits

Extensive coordination enabled the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support to help the Army field female improved hot weather uniforms to new recruits at training centers across the country. Approximately 1,600 sets of the female IHWCU coats and trousers have been issued at the RTCs, with Fort Benning and Fort Sill receiving sets in mid-August, Fort Leonard Wood in September, and Fort Jackson early October.
