Director who led DLA support for Iraq surge to join Hall of Fame

Retired Navy Vice Adm. Al Thompson, who led DLA as director at a time when a surge in deployed personnel demanded a surge in critical equipment from DLA — and then led the agency through declining defense budgets — will join the Hall of Fame Sept. 20.

Galbraith, force behind critical distribution system, joins DLA Hall of Fame

One of the 2016 inductees into the DLA Hall of Fame, Kent “Rocky” Galbraith, spent 38 years with DLA, beginning as a warehouse worker at Defense Depot Ogden Utah in 1966.

In 1984, David Ennis was voted one of 10 Outstanding DLA Personnel; in 2016 he is one of seven inductees into the DLA Hall of Fame.

Nominations for DLA Hall of Fame due by March 31

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — Current and former DLA employees have until March 31 to submit nominations of former DLA employees for the 2015 DLA Hall of Fame. Former agency civilians of any grade or military members of any rank, living or deceased, can be nominated.

DLA inducts five former employees into Hall of Fame

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — Five former Defense Logistics Agency employees who helped build the agency’s reputation as a world- class logistics provider were inducted into the agency’s Hall of Fame July 14 at the McNamara Headquarters Complex.
