DLA Aviation helps keep the Thunderbolt II mission ready

RICHMOND, Va. — Trying to maintain an antique machine is a challenge for any collector or parts provider whether it’s a bicycle, a car, or a multiple-million-dollar weapon system flying critical missions keeping Americans safe at home and abroad. The A-10 is one such system whose length of service has recently been extended until 2022.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation's Customer Operations Directorate in Richmond, Virginia is part of a team that keeps the UH-60 platforms mission ready. The UH-60 Black Hawks are used for a variety of missions including medical evacuation, air assault, personnel transport and airlift. Teamwork key for sustaining the UH-60

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Customer Operations Directorate in Richmond, Virginia, is part of a team that keeps the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter mission ready in production, deployment, and sustainment.

DLA employee receives Canadian Meritorious Service Medal

Washington, DC — DLA’s Eugene Shearer received Canada’s Meritorious Service Medal on Dec. 15 for his contributions as chief of the Combined Joint Logistics Branch of Regional Command South, Afghanistan, in 2010 and 2011, while serving as a colonel in the U.S. Army.
