DSCR mass warning system to be tested during Virginia annual tornado drill March 16

Richmond, Va. — Virginia’s Severe Weather Awareness Week takes place March 15-19. On March 16, the annual tornado response drill will take place throughout many cities and counties within the commonwealth. During the drill, Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond employees on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, will test the mass warning notification system, Giant Voice, with a "seek shelter" message.

Planning is key to reacting to workplace emergencies

Richmond, Virginia — September is National Preparedness Month and Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia’s Fire and Emergency Services personnel are getting the word out to employees to plan and prepare for disasters. Being prepared can prevent employees from incurring harm and assist in their ability to provide continued support for the mission and to the warfighter.

Emergency exercise keeps installation prepared, ready to support the warfighter during hurricanes, other disasters

RIchmond, Va. — A hurricane emergency tabletop exercise took place July 20 on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Its purpose was to bring key installation personnel together.

July is the peak month for grill fires. Roughly half of the injuries involving grills are thermal burns. The National Fire Protection Association provides free downloadable grilling safety tips on their website at NFPA.org.
