DLA helps federal partners replenish national stockpile of personal protective equipment

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency is working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Health and Human Services to replenish the nearly depleted Strategic National Stockpile with personal protective equipment as the nation continues responding to COVID-19.

Despite COVID-19 delays, DLA delivers Seder kits to soldiers in Germany for Passover

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — An emergency order of Seder kits was held up, partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on its way to help Jewish soldiers with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany, celebrate the Passover holiday. DLA reps maintained constant contact with the Army unit's chaplain throughout the delivery.

PHILADEPHIA — Approximately 134 Army recruits received American-made athletic footwear at Ft. Benning, Georgia Oct. 1, thanks to Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support. Recruits at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri also received athletic footwear this week, with recruits at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and Ft. Sill, Oklahoma to receive the new shoes starting Oct. 7.

DLA supports Marine recruits with quality clothing

Parris Island, South Carolina — Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island, South Carolina, turns recruits into Marines. Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support understands service members’ pride in their image and takes pride of their own in providing high-quality uniforms to recruits journeying into military service.

The sole of a military-issue boot is ripped apart by the Product Test Center-Analytical Instron tensile tester. Using the interchangeable jaws of the machine, footwear can be tested to ensure the soles have the proper bond strength and won’t separate under field conditions.
