DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. (AFNS) — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Mobility Command website — The 3rd Airlift Squadron from the 436th Airlift Wing supported relief efforts for Katrina and Haiti and the squadron continues this tradition with the C-17 Globemaster III by transporting essential recovery supplies to the survivors of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

A loadmaster with the 6th Airlift Squadron directs 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron personnel toward a C-17 Globemaster III, which will transport cargo and 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron personnel to Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. to provide medical relief after Hurricane Harvey caused catastrophic floods in the states of Texas and Louisiana, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Aug. 30, 2017. The 375th LRS loaded 6.5 tons of medical supplies onto a C-17 Globemaster III for the nine-person medical team. The 375th AES crew, prepared to provide relief for 30 days, will be staged at Little Rock Air Force Base, where they will pick up high-priority patients from George Bush Intercontinental Airport and transport them to one of seven hospital locations across the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. Aeromedical team at Scott AFB joins response to Hurricane Harvey

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (AFNS) — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Force Medical Service website — Scott Air Force Base joined humanitarian relief efforts by mobilizing the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, Aug. 30, 2017, in the wake of catastrophic Hurricane Harvey, which has caused historical and life-threatening flooding in the states of Texas and Louisiana.

POL: Pumping the “life blood” of fuel to Air Operations

AL UDEID AIR BASE, Qatar — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing website — Airmen with the 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, Fuels Management Flight, work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to make sure that the aircraft assigned here are receiving the “life blood” of fuel that to support operations in the U.S. Air Forces Central command area of responsibility.

MARSOC utilizes its U.S. Air Force counterparts from the Air Mobility Command to expedite the process of quickly and efficiently getting those troops and supplies to areas of interest.

FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Fairchild Air Force Base website — In November 2016, the 92nd Maintenance Squadron became one of the first squadrons Air Force wide to receive an inventory vending machine for the periodic-inspection support section.

A High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle was tied down with both the existing tiedowns and new synthetic tiedowns to conduct a side by side demonstration during an operational evaluation on Joint Base Charleston, Nov. 28 and 29. The evaluation was a culmination of an Air Force Research Labs, Advanced Power Technology Office, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, initiative to reduce aircraft weight by almost 1,000 pounds for better fuel efficiency.

JB Charleston test new equipment, saves Air Force millions

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 18th Air Force website — An operational evaluation of new synthetic tiedowns and winch cables for the C-17 Globemaster III took place here Nov. 28 and 29. Tiedowns are ropes, cords, straps or chains that secure items during airlift operations. Winch cables help adjust the tension on tiedowns, securing the load.

SPMAGTF-SC, JTF-Bravo disaster relief in Haiti enabled by logistics, ‘Rapid Global Mobility’
