Karin DeGraw is a management and program analyst for the Process Excellence Team at Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services Headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan. She began the PaCE Program in 2017 and graduated in 2019.

PaCE Spotlight: Brandon Awkerman

Brandon Awkerman is in his second year of the Pathways to Career Excellence Program and is currently located at Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services Headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan. He is in the Contracting PaCE Program, so he will not be placed at a field site location during or after his participation in the PaCE Program. Brandon’s group had a unique experience in the program as they were in their first year of the program when the pandemic began.

Training Academy aims for equity, ‘well-rounded’ employees

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Training Academy, a pilot program for early career employees, kicked off with a virtual roll-out meeting with participants April 7. The goal is to provide an organizational standard of training for new employees, and complement existing training programs to result in more equitable learning opportunities for hands-on training.

Training the next generation of warfighter supporters goes virtual during pandemic

When Defense Logistics Agency Pathways to Career Excellence Class 39 kicked off March 16, 20-year Army veteran Daryl Johnson was among the 30 members embarking on the two-year journey. The DLA Pathways to Career Excellence Program trains entry-level employees for advancement in supply, technical quality, procurement and finance fields through on-the-job work assignments, cross-training, rotational assignments and formal instruction. Johnson and his classmates were still in-processing into DLA when the agency launched a maximum telework policy March 23 due to COVID-19.

Today, we spotlight Alyzza Mace, inventory management specialist, Material Planning Division, Planning Process Directorate. She has reached the midway point in the two-year program.
