KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — The commander of DLA Troop Support was in familiar territory when he addressed the workforce in Kaiserslautern, Germany Aug. 28. Col. Mark Simerly graduated from high school in Frankfurt and had two assignments in Germany.

Richmond employees help local community

Richmond, Va — Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, employees organized a group of givers who helped students in need by contributing school supplies to the local Bensley Elementary School. Employees from the Customer Intelligence-Focused Team in the DLA Aviation Planning Process Directorate donated the items and volunteers donated their time Aug. 29 to deliver the items.

Members of the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania Cold Chain Packaging Team were presented Superior Civilian Service Awards during a ceremony held Aug. 23, 2017, in Bldg. 89 at the DDSP Center. Each awardee was nominated for their efforts, work ethic, and exceeding in demonstrating the elements of Character, Ownership, Respect and Excellence (core DLA values) during the 2016 calendar year.

Susquehanna Cold Chain Packaging Team members earn awards for flu vaccine processing, ‘zero fail rate’ in CY16

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — Thirteen members of the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania Cold Chain Packaging Team were presented Superior Civilian Service Awards during a ceremony held Aug. 23, 2017, in Bldg. 89 at the DDSP Center.

JBSA-Seguin ISB supports Hurricane Harvey disaster relief efforts

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Joint Base San Antonio website — In support of Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, the 502nd Air Base Wing, Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Defense Logistics Agency stood up an Incident Support Base at Joint Base San Antonio-Seguin Auxiliary Airfield Aug. 24.

A loadmaster with the 6th Airlift Squadron directs 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron personnel toward a C-17 Globemaster III, which will transport cargo and 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron personnel to Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. to provide medical relief after Hurricane Harvey caused catastrophic floods in the states of Texas and Louisiana, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Aug. 30, 2017. The 375th LRS loaded 6.5 tons of medical supplies onto a C-17 Globemaster III for the nine-person medical team. The 375th AES crew, prepared to provide relief for 30 days, will be staged at Little Rock Air Force Base, where they will pick up high-priority patients from George Bush Intercontinental Airport and transport them to one of seven hospital locations across the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. (AFNS) — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Force Medical Service website — Scott Air Force Base joined humanitarian relief efforts by mobilizing the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, Aug. 30, 2017, in the wake of catastrophic Hurricane Harvey, which has caused historical and life-threatening flooding in the states of Texas and Louisiana.
