Sabo earns military quarterly award

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Air Force Master Sgt. Jeffrey Sabo, Defense Logistics Agency Energy Americas, was awarded the DLA-wide Senior Enlisted Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter for the first quarter, fiscal year 2018 for his support to the warfighter and DLA customers.

Exercise tests EOD and security forces

Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar — Defense Logistics Agency personnel in Qatar helped airmen from 379th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron and 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal flight collaborate on a training exercise recently.

AFLCMC NDI goes digital on aircraft inspections: saves money, improves operations for Air Force

Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base website — The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center expects to save the Air Force money while protecting the environment and streamlining operations as they roll out their new nondestructive inspection process to inspect aircraft across the service.

Personnel use a large forklift to lift a vehicle and let it roll after being dropped to shake loose any ammunition that may have been left behind in the vehicles before any unfired rounds can cause an accident during disposal.

Three years of living less dangerously

Bagram, Afghanistan — While people enjoy being recognized for what they have done, the Defense Logistics Agency safety program recently recognized those supporting DLA Disposition Services operations in Afghanistan for something they did not do for almost three years – lose work time from accidents.

PHILADELPHIA — Two Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees were recognized for their service during a retirement ceremony March 29. Dewey Smith, an equal employment specialist, and Nereida Rivera, a hand embroidery fabric worker, retired with 43 years of combined federal service.

Richmond, Va. — Friends, family and colleagues recognized Air Force Col. Rod Bloker, industrial support activity commander, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Warner Robins, during his retirement ceremony March 30 held at the Museum of Aviation near Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.
