The POL team works tirelessly to improve fuel efficiency, saving the Defense Logistics Agency and U.S. Air Force time and money. Maintenance upgrades to the fuel distribution structure is currently underway with a plan to redesign the system for effective expeditionary results.

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Kadena Air Base website — When an Airman gets into a government owned vehicle, the assumption is the vehicle will start up with zero issues and be able to help the Airman get from point A to point B. What may not be known is when there’s a flat tire or dead battery, the 18th Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle maintenance shop has the tools and people to help get the vehicle up and running again.

First-timers experience meals, ready to be eaten

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — A handful of 'diners' were granted access to an exclusive pop-up restaurant of sorts, promising meals, ready to eat, during its only lunch seating at the Defense Logistics Agency headquarters April 4. The concept? Giving those who serve the warfighter an opportunity to lunch and learn, with a taste of the military field rations troops consume.

A home station check is the behind-the-scenes maintenance that can prevent loss of life, lead to savings in time and money and keep the aircraft fit to fight.
