Air Force awards $143 million energy savings contract at DoD’s largest joint base

Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Force Civil Engineer Center website — The Air Force Civil Engineer Center Energy Directorate’s Program Development division worked together with Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, and the Defense Logistics Agency Energy to award an energy savings performance contract valued at nearly $143 million to increase energy resiliency at the Department of Defense’s largest joint base. Ameresco, Inc. has been awarded the contract to support all areas of JBSA and provide more than $285 million in total cost savings over the 22-year financed term of the contract.

Prepare to log in to your phone starting October 12

Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime associates will soon experience changes to phone use as part of the Agency’s deployment of new telephone services. Starting Oct. 12, DLA Information Operations will implement the Extension Mobility feature for Enterprise Voice over Internet Protocol systems in Columbus – joining other DLA major subordinate commands to make the move in recent months. Some phone numbers are exempt from the roll out, including conference rooms, emergency services, command and other identified telephone lines.

Two DLA Troop Support employees were recognized for their 68 years of combined service during a retirement ceremony Sept. 26 in Philadelphia. Anita Parker,Procurement Process Support, and Philip DiBabbo, Medical supply chain, both retired with 34 years of service.

DLA Distribution San Joaquin receives the prestigious Department of Defense Voluntary Protection Programs Site Award

A culture of safety at DLA Distribution San Joaquin, California is evident with their selection as the 2018 Department of Defense Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Achievement Award winner. Marine Col. Andre Harrell, installation commander, accepted the award on behalf of Team San Joaquin at the Voluntary Protection Program Participant’s Association National Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on August 28, 2018. The installation is one of only 57 certified Occupational Safety and Health Administration Voluntary Protection Programs Star sites in the Department of Defense.
