Women’s Equality Day observed across the DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan

YOKOSUKA, Japan — DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan celebrated Women's Equality Day by bringing display information and educational material to each of the buildings across the Yokosuka facilities. Each directorate and branch displayed educational posters, in both English and Japanese, and had handouts and bookmarks available at each location for individuals to take with them from August 13 to 26.

Suppliers learn tips for government contracting at free training session

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Nearly 50 suppliers from across the country took part in a two-day training session Sept. 11-12 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus on how to do business with the Defense Logistics Agency. The free Training, Knowledge and Opportunities class – known as a TKO – is offered through the DLA Land and Maritime Small Business Office and is designed to teach suppliers new to federal government contracting how to be successful.

35 MXS fabrication flight repair makes U.S. Air Force history

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Misawa Air Base website — Three Airmen with the 35th Maintenance Squadron fabrication flight performed a depot-level repair on an F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft at Misawa Air Base, Japan, in August this year.

621st CRW, Army participate in airfield-opening exercise in Wisconsin

FORT MCCOY, Wis. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Mobility Command website — Airmen, Soldiers and officials from the Defense Logistics Agency were sent to Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, Sept. 7 to 14 as part of Exercise Turbo Distribution 18-02, a Joint Task Force-Port Opening simulation designed to hone joint service interoperability in austere locations for the purpose of opening airfields and forwarding the mobility-centric goals of the Army and Air Force.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — In remembrance of the 17th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, DLA Distribution hosted a Patriot Day ceremony on Sept. 11 featuring guest speaker Army Col. James Carmichael.
