PaCE Spotlight: Brandon Awkerman

Brandon Awkerman is in his second year of the Pathways to Career Excellence Program and is currently located at Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services Headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan. He is in the Contracting PaCE Program, so he will not be placed at a field site location during or after his participation in the PaCE Program. Brandon’s group had a unique experience in the program as they were in their first year of the program when the pandemic began.

For her nearly 40 years of selfless service, people skills and trailblazing legacy, former chief of the Acquisition Workforce Development and Intern Center, Kathleen “Kate” Straub-Jones was inducted into the DLA Energy Hall of Fame on the McNamara Headquarters Complex on Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Oct. 31.

DLA Energy Task Force Americas closes out Hurricane Ian support

After nearly a month of emergency fuel support, DLA Energy Task Force Americas closed out Hurricane Ian assistance to FEMA Oct. 19. TFA personnel Chris Rogers, Air Force Maj. Timothy Truong, and Ray Juré helped coordinate fuel shipments from supply points in Virginia and Alabama to affected areas in central Florida.

Trip to Jacksonville completes Aviation commander’s tour of ISAs

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Sean Tyler wrapped up his tour of the six industrial support activities with a two-day trip to DLA Aviation at Jacksonville, Florida, Oct. 25 and 26.
