Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia, Fire and Emergency Services will provide flu shots to Active duty and retired military, civilian and retired employees beginning Oct. 26, 2016 in the Lott’s Conference Center from 8 a.m. to noon. Other dates scheduled are Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month celebrated at DSCR

Richmond, Va. — The National Disability Employment Awareness Month Program kicked off October 18 in the Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center, Richmond, Virginia. Guest speaker, retired Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Kathy Tilbury, a program management analyst with Defense Logistics Agency’s Office of Research and Resource Analysis, spoke about how adaptive sports have restored her ability to be an athlete.

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, employees gathered in the Center Restaurant Oct. 13 to celebrate the Navy’s 241st birthday.

October is Energy Awareness Month. An Energy Month Fair will be held on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, Oct. 19, 2016 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Center Restaurant to provide employees information about energy conservation and efficiency.

Everyone has a role in conserving energy

RICHMOND, Virginia — October is National Energy Action Month. The Department of Energy has published a list of actions individuals can take in their workplaces to conserve energy and help achieve a healthier environment. Many of the items are simple and common sense actions that can have a big impact over time.

Don’t wait, check smoke alarm date

Richmond, Va. — Did you know that most home fire deaths happen when people are asleep between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.? During Fire Prevention Week, DLA Installation Support at Richmond Fire and Emergency Services personnel remind employees to replace smoke alarms every 10 years.

Shelter in place awareness could save lives during a CBRNE incident

RICHMOND, VA — September is National Preparedness Month. One of the warnings you may be given if chemical, biological, nuclear or high explosives (CBRNE) may have been released into the atmosphere is to shelter in place (SIP). This is a precaution aimed to keep you safe while remaining indoors. SIP means selecting a small, interior room, with no or few windows, and taking refuge there. It does not mean sealing off your entire office building. The Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia CBRNE Annex Plan details what you should do if an CBRNE incident occurs on DSCR.

September is Defense Logistics Agency’s Resiliency Month, and Sep. 7 was celebrated as Resiliency Day across the agency. The DLA’s Office of Operations Research and Resource Analysis, more commonly known as DORRA, participated in resiliency day with several events.

September is Defense Logistics Agency’s Resiliency Month, and Sep. 7 was celebrated as Resiliency Day across the agency. It was a time set aside to provide employees an opportunity to accentuate their actions to maintain and improve resiliency in their lives.
