Employee Working Group holds Warrior Wednesday fun walk/run

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency employees on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia celebrated the March Warrior Wednesday with a Spirit of Spring Fun Walk/Run.

DLA supervisor shares deployment experience as resiliency lesson

RICHMOND, Virginia — A DLA Aviation supervisor recently shared her experiences from her 2015 deployment to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, where she served for six months as the DLA Support Team deputy commander.

The conference theme was “Building a Culture of Innovation and Resiliency,” with a focus on effective leadership strategies, integrity, innovative thinking, accountability, removing barriers and resiliency. Attending were leaders from DLA, DLA Aviation and industry partners.

SLC focuses on innovation, resiliency, culture

DLA Aviation keeps F/A-18 jets soaring

RICHMOND, Virginia — F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets, flown by Navy and Marine Corps pilots, have patrolled U.S. and international airspace for more than 30 years — and will likely keep flying well into the future, with the help of a special DLA Aviation team.

Resiliency toolkit explored during Senior Leader Conference

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation senior leaders met on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, March 1 -3, reviewing 2015 successes and missed opportunities and the activity’s way forward for 2016. But the conference wasn’t just about the mission, leaders also focused on building a culture of innovation and resiliency through the sharing of personal testimonies and learning tools to enable them and their employees to adapt to and persevere in the face of personal and professional challenges.

DLA Aviation seeks improved legacy support through additive manufacturing

RICHMOND, Virginia — Creating items in three dimensions instead of two is sometimes compared to creating a sculpture instead of a portrait. Even though we live in a 3D world, engineers were limited for many years to 2D drawings/sketches to communicate thoughts and ideas. Today with technological advances in additive manufacturing methods and other technologies, engineers can go directly from a 3D idea to a 3D object.

Public Safety: A Shared Responsibility

We share everyday observations with our neighbors, colleagues, family, and friends on a routine basis. Throughout the week, things become the norm as we talk to the same people and travel the same paths. In those same travels and discussions with co-workers, we may observe something that just doesn’t seem right or is out of place.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Air Force Master Sgt. Shanon Johnson is named DLA senior Non-commissioned Officer of the Quarter, 1st Quarter 2016. Johnson earned this recognition in part through her role as an assistant B-1 weapon system program manager, serving an active role on the Air Force Supply Chain Working Group working diligently to ensure mission effectiveness, and for her volunteerism and leadership within the community with children, family, and wounded warriors.
