DLA to hold Restoration Advisory Board meeting April 11 in Chesterfield

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency officials from Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, will host a Restoration Advisory Board meeting at 7:30 p.m., April 11, 2016 at the Bensley Community Center located at 2900 Drewry's Bluff Rd., North Chesterfield, Virginia 23237. The meeting is open to the public.

Contractors are installing 252 geothermal wells to heat and cool the new Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Operations Center Feb. 17, 2016. The first phase of the three-phased, five-story, 252,000 square-feet building is scheduled for occupancy in late 2018 or early 2019.

Richmond price analyst named DLA Aviation’s February Employee of the Month

RICHMOND, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s February Employee of the Month is Dawn Hampton. She serves as a price analyst for DLA Aviation’s Procurement Process Support Directorate’s Pricing Division in Richmond, Virginia. DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day presented Hampton the award during a ceremony March 28.

A new acquisition professionals video focusing on a DLA Aviation employee was released on the organization’s YouTube and Facebook sites March 30.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Command Support Directorate hosted 20 personnel from the 192nd Supply Chain Management Squadron from the Virginia Air National Guard, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, March 16, 2016, at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The purpose of the guard’s visit was to lean about DLA Aviation processes, meeting customer needs, ordering parts, and getting parts to the warfighter on time.

DLA employee describes resiliency in face of physical challenges

RICHMOND, Va. — A DLA employee who is blind talked about being resilient in the face of daily challenges, in a presentation he recently gave to DLA Aviation senior leaders.

DSCR takes part in statewide tornado exercise

RICHMOND, Virginia — The peace and serenity of a warm, clear sunny March day on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, was shattered, in an instant, when a tornado warning blared over the installation’s Giant Voice speaker system.

Two MCV-22 Osprey aircraft flew to Defense Supply Center Richmond March 1, 2016. Onboard is Defense Logistics Agency’s Marine Corps Deputy Commandant for Aviation Lt. Gen. Jon Davis who arrived to speak from the voice of the customer perspective on readiness, process excellence, and resiliency during the Senior Leader Conference held March 1-3, 2016. The Osprey was flown by the Marine Corps Squadron One and is the second landing on the Defense Supply Center Richmond’s helipad.

DLA supervisor shares deployment experience as resiliency lesson

RICHMOND, Virginia — A DLA Aviation supervisor recently shared her experiences from her 2015 deployment to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, where she served for six months as the DLA Support Team deputy commander.
