Process improvements speed parts delivery

Metrics don’t always tell the whole story and successful organizations welcome customer feedback and areas to improve. Back in January, the 573rd Commodities Maintenance Squadron leadership at Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex reached out to the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Warner Robins’ Storage and Distribution team about issue and delivery delays for raw materials not being delivered to their mechanics quickly enough.

Navy Cmdr. Curtis Ceaser took over as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation - Jacksonville, Florida during a virtual change of command ceremony on Naval Air Station Jacksonville, June 15. DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. David Sanford officiated the ceremony virtually from Washington, D.C., where he is currently on a special assignment as the deputy director of the COVID-19 Supply Chain Task Force with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Training the next generation of warfighter supporters goes virtual during pandemic

When Defense Logistics Agency Pathways to Career Excellence Class 39 kicked off March 16, 20-year Army veteran Daryl Johnson was among the 30 members embarking on the two-year journey. The DLA Pathways to Career Excellence Program trains entry-level employees for advancement in supply, technical quality, procurement and finance fields through on-the-job work assignments, cross-training, rotational assignments and formal instruction. Johnson and his classmates were still in-processing into DLA when the agency launched a maximum telework policy March 23 due to COVID-19.
