DLA Distribution commander visits Susquehanna site’s East and West locations

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On a trip to the largest distribution center in DLA Distribution’s network, the organization’s commanding general Army Brig. Gen. John S. Laskodi received an update on major missions and operations during a visit to the organization’s East and West bulk sites on June 20.

San Joaquin's Unitized Group Rations Team wins DLA Distribution Big Ideas Awards

TRACY, California — The DLA Distribution San Joaquin, California, Unitized Group Rations Team is the winner of the DLA Distribution Big Ideas Awards for the 2nd Quarter Fiscal Year 2017 in the Large Category.

The Civilian Welfare Fund sponsored a dunk tank fundraiser at the Bellwood Bash event held May 18, 2017. Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Deputy Commander Charlie Lilli did his part by volunteering to get dunked. All funds raised are deposited into an CWF managed account, then returned to the workforce in the form of morale building activities.

Stewart receives Defense Meritorious Service Medal for service to DLA

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Prior to departing DLA Distribution following almost one year with the organization, Army Master Sgt. Cynthia Stewart received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for her service from July 2016 to May 2017.

July is the peak month for grill fires. Roughly half of the injuries involving grills are thermal burns. The National Fire Protection Association provides free downloadable grilling safety tips on their website at NFPA.org.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Service, along with several procurement analysts from headquarters, visited DLA Distribution on June 12. His main purpose for the site visit was to review DLA Distribution’s contract oversight program, meet with the acquisition workforce, and have a tour of DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania’s Eastern Distribution Center.
