Distribution headquarters celebrates the 242nd Army birthday

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — In a ceremony held in the DLA Distribution Headquarters auditorium, senior leaders, military members and civilian staff celebrated the U.S. Army’s 242nd Birthday on June 14, 2017. Distribution’s chief of staff, Perry Knight spoke about the significance and history of the day.

DLA Distribution’s outgoing Future Operations deputy director Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Steve Macdonald was honored with the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his accomplishments from May 2014 to June 2017 on June 6.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution’s outgoing Future Operations deputy director Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Steve Macdonald was honored with the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his accomplishments from May 2014 to June 2017 on June 6.

Installation Support enforces Real ID Act for Virginia license holders beginning July 10

Richmond, Virginia — Employees following the Real ID Act implementation for family members whose only ID is issued by Virginia need to know that the extension issued for Virginia by the Department of Homeland Security expired June 6. Virginia is one of several states currently non-compliant with the Act.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Col. Mark Hirschinger, chief, Army Customer Facing Division, Customer Operations Directorate, cuts the Army birthday cake June 13, 2017 with Sgt. Tom Katsiyiannis, 392nd Army Band, Fort Lee, Virginia, at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. The cake ceremony is a long standing Army tradition where the soldier with longest time in service cuts the cake with the soldier with the least amount of time in service using the ceremonial military saber.

Richmond, Virginia — Soldiers and Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employees celebrated the Army’s 242nd birthday with a ceremony at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation-San Diego employees Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade Angeli Legardye, right, Contract Specialist Nicole Johnson, left, and Management Analyst Karen Higdon, middle, sort through clothing donated by employees for local non-profit organizations to distribute to families in need. The program collects clothing for newborn to 1 year-old children of families who have been identified by local nurses and social service agencies.

San Diego’s culture committee teams up with local NPOs

San Diego — The Culture Committee at Defense Logistics Agency Aviation-San Diego collaborated with a local non-profit organization and held a clothing drive in May to provide baby items for newborn to 1-year-olds throughout San Diego County.
