Aviation Leader Commentary: One team, one victory

Richmond, Va. — Why do we do what we do? Obviously supporting our families and preparing for our future and retirement are motivations for many of us. I have two daughters in college, so I know how important that paycheck is. But that is not why I work at the Defense Logistics Agency.

Former Tobyhanna commander promoted to brigadier general

FORT BRAGG, North Carolina — Army Col. Michael Talley, former commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Tobyhanna, Pa., was promoted to the rank of brigadier general at a ceremony held at Marshall Hall, U.S. Army Forces Command in Fort Bragg, N.C., on Aug. 5.

Twelve DLA Distribution employee and five teams have been chosen as the winners of the fiscal year 2016 third quarter Employee of the Quarter, Team of the Quarter, Mission Impact and Big Ideas awards.

DLA Distribution announces third quarter award winners

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution has announced the winners of the fiscal year 2016 third quarter Employee of the Quarter, Team of the Quarter, Mission Impact and Big Ideas awards.

David "D.J." Smith Sanchez makes sure he clears the bar while competing as a member of the Auburn University track team. He is competing as a member of the Puerto Rican National Olympic Team at this summer’s Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro in honor of his maternal grandfather who born in Puerto Rico and passed away two years ago. His dad, David Smith, is a customer support technician at DLA Aviation at Warner Robins, Georgia.

"Taking Safety to Victory Lane" at National Night Out

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On Aug. 2, employees, installation residents, and community gathered for Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna’s annual National Night Out. This year’s theme, “Taking Safety to Victory Lane,” was presented through family-oriented activities with the goal of promoting community involvement in preventing crime and drug use, strengthening police and community relations, and encouraging neighborhood camaraderie.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Army Col. Brad Eungard assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., in a ceremony on Aug. 5. The ceremony was officiated by DLA Distribution commander Army Brig. Gen. John Laskodi.

Material handlers Danny Howard and Charles Gonzalez, Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, move a cabinet for delivery to an office at Defense Supply Center Richmond. Office moves, furniture delivery and cube construction are a few of the services provided by the Customer Support Division.
