South Korea military base receives Pfizer vaccines from DLA for DoD adolescents

The first shipment of minus 80-degrees Celsius Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines from Defense Logistics Agency Distribution arrived at U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center-Korea at Camp Carroll in Waegwan, South Korea, May 17 for Defense Department dependents on the peninsula.

In a traditional Navy ceremony, command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Sigonella, Italy, was formally transferred from Navy Capt. (sel) Vincent Erno to Navy Cmdr. Eugene Dawson on May 27.

Changes occurring on Defense Supply Center Richmond

Those working within Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Planning Process Directorate on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, have new, temporary homes. More than 220 people moved from Building 31, H Bay and Building 32, H and M Bays into the four huge trailers in the parking lot in front of bldg. 59 along G Road. The move took place between May 3-10.

DLA Distribution Hill expands shelter repair mission

Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Hill, Utah, is home to DLA distribution’s exclusive depot level maintenance repair facility for two- and three-sided expandable shelters. The shelter repair team partners with the Deployable Medical Systems team, who pack medical supplies into the shelter before shipment.

Fillmore U.S. Army Health Clinic staff at Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna, provided over 3,500 Moderna Covid-19 vaccines to over 1,600 installation employees assigned to New Cumberland and Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg tenant organizations Jan. 7 – May 7.

This year’s theme is “This Is EMS: Caring for Our Communities.” According to the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians website, in 1974 President Gerald Ford authorized Emergency Medical Services Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities.

In 2005, Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia’s Environmental Management System was first registered to the international environmental management standard, ISO 14001. This standard specifies the requirements for an effective EMS. It provides the framework that an organization can follow, rather than establishing environmental performance requirements.
