Becoming a Change Agent

Becoming a change agent in the midst of acquisition reform was the theme of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Supply Chain Integration Dee Reardon’s visit to the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Oct. 25. During the mentoring session, Reardon shared seven points of advice based on her personal experience as a change agent.

Troop Support honors 2018 Hall of Fame inductees

PHILADELPHIA — Former employees Jacqueline A. Basquill, Keith R. Ford and Wayne H. Williford were inducted into the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Hall of Fame during a ceremony Nov. 13. “As commander of this great organization, I take pride in knowing that there is a passionate, committed workforce who ensures that DLA maintains its stellar reputation,” said DLA Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Mark Simerly. “To the inductees: You are truly deserving of this honor. It’s a privilege for me to recognize your many contributions and to induct you into DLA Troop Support’s Hall of Fame.”

The results of the Defense Logistics Agency 2018 Denison Culture Climate Survey are in, and the findings illustrate noticeable progress. While DLA received its highest ever Enterprise-wide score of 66 with improvements in all 12 indices, DLA Energy-specific results showed an even bigger improvement with an average index score of 83, up 22 points since the last time the survey was conducted in 2016.

Philadelphia Compound Veterans Committee observe Veteran's Day

PHILADELPHIA — Retired Army Master Sgt. Bill Kaemmer served as the keynote speaker during the Philadelphia Compound Veterans Committee’s annual Veteran’s Day observance, Nov. 5, 2018 at DLA Troop Support Philadelphia. Kaemmer shared the story of four United States Army chaplains who gave their lives to save those of civilian and military personnel during the sinking of the United States Army Troop Ship Dorchester on Feb. 3, 1943 during World War II.
