Richmond employees participates in assistive technology conference

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency 508 Compliance Program Office employees Noel Romey, information technology specialist and Christina Larsen, DLA 508 program manager, DLA Information Operations , who work at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, attended the 32nd California State University, Northridge, Assistive Technology Conference, March 1 – 3, in San Diego to learn about the latest technology to assist handicap employees.

DLA graduates newest employees from two-year training program

RIchmond, Va. — Surrounded by family, friends and co-workers, 29 DLA Aviation and DLA Finance Pathways to Career Excellence (PaCE) Program graduates joined the ranks of the DLA workforce March 30 in a ceremony held in the Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

DFSP Charleston excels in surprise oil spill exercise

CHARLESTON, South Carolina — Defense Logistics Agency Energy’s Defense Fuel Support Point Charleston, South Carolina successfully passed a recent government-initiated unannounced exercise involving a hazardous material spill.

DLA division uses parachutes, partnership to support humanitarian aid

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — DLA expanded its humanitarian efforts by teaming with agencies such as NORTHCOM and the USAID to help non-government organizations provide aid to those in need. DLA’s Whole of Government Division recently helped supply the World Food Programme by providing containers and parachutes in order to deliver food and supplies to Syrian refugees.

New military positions connecting processes at FRC’s

Richmond, Virginia — From October 2015 through February 2016, Navy Lt. Traci Irby backfilled a position at DLA Aviation at the Navy Fleet Readiness Center Southwest in San Diego. Little did anyone know it would end up being the catalyst for the permanent implementation of military junior officer positions to be placed at each of the FRC sites DLA Aviation supports.

Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony with other senior officials for the Air Force’s largest energy savings performance contract at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, March 29.

Surrounded by team members, DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day signs the first DLA/Navy retail supply manual on March 24, 2017 at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. DLA Warrant Officers: leaders, mentors, technical experts

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency’s warrant officers are few in number, averaging only 17 Army billets and one Marine Corps billet, but their impact is felt throughout the enterprise.
