Coronavirus: Protecting yourself and DLA from cyber threats

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — The coronavirus pandemic has created stress and fear for many, and unfortunately, hackers are taking advantage of the situation in cyberspace. With an unprecedented number of Defense Logistics Agency employees – as many as 20 to 25 thousand – teleworking in response to the coronavirus, the agency faces increased security risks.

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — The Defense Logistics Agency will deliver 11,000 face shields to New York City medical workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 response by coupling a novel acquisition approach and one of DLA’s Research & Development projects using advanced manufacturing technology.

DLA Energy maintains fuel quality with modified procedures

Quality assurance representatives at DLA Energy are modifying procedures to ensure military fuel remains on-spec during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are closely synchronizing fuel movements with suppliers, and in some cases where there is an acceptable level of risk to the supply chain, using remote oversight methods to overcome restricted travel and social distancing requirements.

Eisenhower School Seminar goes virtual

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Using the school’s online classroom, students at National Defense University’s Eisenhower School learned about DLA Energy during a virtual presentation, April 6. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, the defense fuel management seminar was held online with the more than 20 senior-level military officers and civilians from the U.S. and four international partners – Czech Republic, Lebanon, Norway and Poland.
