Coast Guard leaders visit Troop Support to discuss uniforms, challenges, opportunities

PHILADELPHIA — Fielding current and future Coast Guard uniforms were among key topics discussed by Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Clothing and Textiles leaders and Coast Guard representatives during a visit to the organization June 29 in Philadelphia.

Leadership changes hands at DLA Distribution Sigonella, Italy

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — Navy Cmdr. Benjamin “Ben” Muniz took command of Defense Logistics Agency Sigonella, Italy, from outgoing Navy Cmdr. Eugene “Geno” Dawson, during a change of command ceremony June 15. DLA Europe & Africa Commander, Col. Faith Chamberlain officiated the ceremony.

Locals tour mobile field clinics donated to aid in hurricane recovery in Honduras through the US Southern Command's humanitarian aide program. DLA Troop Support procured six mobile field clinics that were delivered in April.

DLA provides mobile field clinics to Honduras

PHILADELPHIA — To help restore medical infrastructure damaged by hurricanes, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Medical supply chain provided six mobile field clinics to Honduras through a US Southern Command humanitarian donation in April.

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Shirley hosts his last town hall event for Troop Support employees in Philadelphia on May 6. Army BG Eric P. Shirley assumed command of the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support on June 17, 2021. Under his leadership, DLA Troop Support annually provides more than $19 billion worth of food, clothing and textiles, construction and equipment, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment, as well as industrial repair parts for America’s warfighters and other valued customers worldwide.

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support held a civilian retirement ceremony in honor of Carlos J. Deno Jr., Steven J. Bollendorf, and Gary T. Pierce on May 31, 2023. 

Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain hosted a town hall on 30 May in Philadelphia. The Subsistence supply chain provides food support for the military all over the world. From individually packaged meals in a soldier's ruck sack, to a ship's galley and to full-service dining facilities on military installations, Subsistence gets that food there. Subsistence also supports other non-Department of Defense activities, such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the State Department, Veterans’ Homes and more.
