Defense Logistics Agency delivers a “taste of home” to warfighters around the world
PHILADELPHIA — Warfighters around the world get to taste a home-cooked meal on Thanksgiving thanks to the efforts of Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain employees. The preparation for the troops’ holiday meal starts as early as April. Many ingredients for the meals are on hand at prime vendor locations by September, and the overseas locations start receiving high-volume items, like the turkeys and more than 131 tons of trimmings, in October.

Troop Support “stands down” for safety, resiliency
PHILADELPHIA — Employees from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support were educated on warning signs of stress overload and ways to balance work and personal life during a “Safety Stand Down” event Nov. 21 in Philadelphia. Throughout the day, employees had opportunities to attend a presentation from DLA Chaplain Army Col. Robert Wichman, speak one-on-one with him and participate in discussions focused on safety and resilience.

Government testing facility celebrates 100 years in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Product Test Center Analytical’s mission began in 1919 at the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot in an effort to instruct military personnel on the scientific approach to textile procurement for uniforms. One hundred years later, the mission continues on, ensuring the products purchased for warfighters and other government customers meet the quality specifications to survive the varied conditions required.
