Subsistence employees enjoy a variety of food during an outdoor Spring Fling event May 11 at the Naval Support Activity Philadelphia. Employees brought their favorite pot luck meals and ate hamburgers and hot dogs.

Spring Fling celebrates teamwork in Subsistence

PHILADELPHIA — The Subsistence sensing team hosted their first event of the year with a Spring Fling, offering employees an opportunity to “play hard because we work hard,” said event coordinator, Kelly Parker.

Members of the DLA Troop Support Ricoh Multi-Functional Devices Support team received the gold medal in the Outstanding Administrative Support Accomplishment category during the FEB Excellence in Government Awards May 12 in Philadelphia. The team took over the maintenance of agency printers and saved the organization more than $150,000.

Troop Support employees honored for excellence at FEB awards

PHILADELPHIA — Several DLA Troop Support employees earned top honors for excellence in public service during an award ceremony in Philadelphia May 12.

Subsistence employees tour Patterson Dining Facility at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware April 27 to see the Air Force’s Food Transformation Initiative. They were invited by the Air Force to show how they operate their Food Transformation Initiative program.

PHILADELPHIA — Subsistence employees visited Dover Air Force Base, Delaware April 27 to learn more about the Air Force's Food Transformation Initiative.

Troop Support commander thanks clothing, textiles industry for keeping warfighters in uniform

PHILADELPHIA — The warfighter is always clothed and protected thanks to U.S. manufacturers of textiles, clothing and footwear, the DLA Troop Support commander told American Apparel and Footwear Association members May 10.

Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician 3rd Class Erik Kastner, assigned to EOD Mobile Unit 6, helps a student from the Civic Leadership Institute of Hampton Roads don an EOD Mark 9 bomb suit during a tour April 21 at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Virginia. DLA Troop Support provides equipment to EOD customers through its Construction and Equipment supply chain.

Troop Support supports EOD mission as national observance nears

PHILADELPHIA — National Explosive Ordnance Disposal Day is observed annually on the first Saturday of May to honor the professionals that put their lives on the line to defuse, disarm or contain bombs and other explosive devices. DLA Troop Support provides much of the equipment that military EOD units demand.
