VPP safety poster contest winners announced
NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — To spread the word about Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna's quest for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Voluntary Protection Program star status, employees of Defense Logistics Agency activities in New Cumberland and Mechanicsburg were encouraged to show off their creativity by creating a poster promoting safety.

DLA command sergeant major visits Guam distribution center
MARIANAS, Guam — On Nov. 12, Army Command Sgt. Maj. Charles Tobin, Defense Logistics Agency headquarters’ senior enlisted advisor, paid a visit to DLA Distribution Guam, Marianas. Tobin’s visit was the first of its kind for the distribution center.

Red River hosts annual Employee Appreciation Day
RED RIVER, Texas — Each year, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Red River, Texas, hosts its annual Employee Appreciation Day at Elliott Lake, a recreational area located at Red River Army Depot to show appreciation to all employees for their hard work. This year’s event was held on Oct. 16.
Susquehanna celebrates new building with a ribbon cutting
NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., celebrated the opening of their newest warehouse, Building 780, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Nov. 16. Robert Montefour, site director for Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Defense Distribution Susquehanna opened the ceremony with a few words before introducing Army Col. Corey A. New, commander DLA Distribution Susquehanna.

Corpus Christi workforce practices fire safety with extinguisher training
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 53 employees were killed by workplace fires in 2014. Although the number of fire-related fatalities has dropped 35 percent from 2013 to 2014, one fatality is too many.

Susquehanna installation military help local community have a happy Thanksgiving
NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — For many local community members, a Thanksgiving meal can be difficult to afford. On Nov. 20, military members and their spouses stationed at Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna helped the West Shore Senior Center provide meals to those in need.

Susquehanna’s Emergency Supply Operations Center practice the Continuity of Operations Plan
NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Members of the Continuity of Operations planners of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution gathered in the Emergency Supply Operations Center of Defense Distribution Susquehanna on Nov. 6 to test the center’s ability to receive high priority ESOC orders, and to successfully pick, pack and ship items to the customer, in an environment where Defense Standard System is not available.
