Former Air Force supply liaison reflects on life during the Vietnam War
OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — Jack Sandmeier, who is currently a supply technician at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Oklahoma City, Okla., spent 24 years in the United States Air Force, several of which were during the Vietnam War. This week, DLA Distribution is saluting veteran employees, and this is what Sandmeier had to say about his time in the Air Force.
DLA Distribution recognizes the U.S. Marines Corps
NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Logistics Agency Distribution employees and leadership gathered to wish a collective “Happy Birthday” to the U.S. Marines Corps November 10, in honor of the service’s 240th birthday. November 10, 1775 was the day that the Continental Marines, later renamed the United States Marine Corps, was established and each year the nation celebrates United States Marine Corps Day.

DLA Distribution commander participates in panel at annual NDTA-USTRANSCOM fall meeting

Dix, attended the third annual National Defense Transportation Association – U.S. Transportation Command fall meeting at the Gaylord National Harbor Hotel in National Harbor, Md., just outside of Washington, DC, from September 28 through 30.

TOBYHANNA, Pennsylvania — Brian Farnsworth and Michael Verton, quality assurance evaluators at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Tobyhanna, Pa., have received the Global Distribution Excellence: Quarterly Contract Quality Assurance Program Commendable Service award for their outstanding leadership and knowledge, which resulted in a 100 percent performance for three consecutive months.

DLA Director updates Distribution workforce on strategic goals
NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — During the DLA Director’s inaugural visit to DLA Distribution in May, he was in the process of developing the Agency’s seven-year strategic plan. On Oct. 27, he returned to the field activity’s headquarters in New Cumberland, Pa., to update the workforce on the main tenants of the now complete plan.

DLA Distribution participates in Child Development Center parade
NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — With the spookiest time of the year upon us, the tenants of Defense Distribution Center, Susquehanna lined the streets surrounding the Child Development Center and the installation fire station to hand out candy to approximately 120 ghouls, goblins, superheroes and princesses on Oct. 30.
