DLA division uses parachutes, partnership to support humanitarian aid

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — DLA expanded its humanitarian efforts by teaming with agencies such as NORTHCOM and the USAID to help non-government organizations provide aid to those in need. DLA’s Whole of Government Division recently helped supply the World Food Programme by providing containers and parachutes in order to deliver food and supplies to Syrian refugees.

DLA Distribution directors and commanders kicked off a five-day seminar aimed at further developing the organization’s Campaign Plan.

Distribution commanders and directors summit focuses on developing Campaign Plan, future strategy

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — From March 20-24, commanders and directors from DLA Distribution’s 26 global distribution centers came together to discuss how the organization will set a plan to carry itself into the future as a strategic national security asset, available whenever called upon by the Department of Defense.

Army Sgt. Leon H. Bell in 1919, after returning from World War I, at the home of his half-sister Lassie and brother-in-law, F.E. Carroll, Park Street, Beaumont, Texas. The U.S. Army continued to issue this uniform into the early days of World War II. DLA Troop Support now supplies all uniforms to U.S. military service members.

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — DLA Aviation has become the agency’s lead activity for support of the Minuteman III, an intercontinental ballistic missile weapon system.

Soldiers with the 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado, participate in the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center annual ration field trials in July 2016. DLA veterinarians inspect military food supplies, supervise operational ration assembly plants, as well as supply and distribution points, and they approve food sources around the world.

International Leadership course conducts annual visit to DLA Distribution

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Students enrolled in the Navy Supply Corps School’s International Leadership Executive Advanced Development course visited DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pennsylvania on Mar. 21 to discuss the organization’s mission capabilities and tour the Department of Defense’s largest distribution facility.

Former Distribution Commanders Visit New Distribution Headquarters

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — As March winds blanketed central Pennsylvania with another layer of snow, seven former Defense Logistics Agency Distribution commanders participated in DLA Distribution’s first former commanding general’s forum at the new headquarters building. After providing the former commanders with an update on the current posture, the Distribution leadership team gleaned the perspectives of the former commanders on current and future operations.

Runners, walkers, warriors honor warfighters despite cold

Runners and walkers from agencies in Fort Belvoir’s McNamara Headquarters Complex braved wind chills in the 30s to participate in the “Honor the Warrior” 5K Walk-Run March 22.
