NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — On Nov. 18, Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch met with DLA Distribution leadership at the newly constructed headquarters building in New Cumberland, Pa., for a report on the fiscal year 2016 annual operating plan and presentation of the fiscal year 2017 AOP.

Small Tribes of Western Washington, based in Lakewood, is one of 125 Native American organizations with members whose fruits and vegetables are delivered by regional produce companies working on DLA Troop Support contracts as part of the USDA Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations.

Stephen Sherman, the director of Document Services in DLA Information Operations, received the DoD Distinguished Civilian Service Award at a Pentagon ceremony Nov. 3. Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work presented the award to Sherman and seven other DoD employees.

San Joaquin graduates its leaders in High Performance Leadership

TRACY, California — DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., held a graduation ceremony for 106 graduates for the Foundations of High Performing Leadership training. All managers, supervisors and American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 1546 leaders attended the two-week session.

Commentary: DLA Regional Commanders shift to touch points for geographic combatant command

In September, I presided over DLA Pacific’s change of command, in which Navy Capt. Tim Daniels took the reins of that outstanding organization from Army Col. Richard Ellis. The ceremony marked more than one change for that team. As Capt. Daniels accepted the unit colors, he initiated a shift in the way DLA Pacific and our other regional commands work with our partners around the world.

DLA Distribution celebrates the Marines Corps 241st birthday

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Defense Logistics Agency, Distribution employees and leadership gathered to wish a collective “Happy Birthday” to the U.S. Marines Corps Nov. 10, in honor of the service’s 241st birthday. November 10, 1775 was the day that the Continental Marines, later renamed the United States Marine Corps, was established and each year on November 10, the United States celebrates United States Marine Corp Day.
