DSCR emergency response exercise takes place May 24

RICHMOND, VA — Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond and DLA Aviation will conduct an active shooter emergency response exercise on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, May 24. DLA Police and Fire and Emergency Services officials will participate in the exercise.

Studevant selected as DLA Aviation’s 2016 Hall of Fame inductee

RICHMOND, Virginia — Mary Studevant, former deputy director of what is now known as Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, has been selected for the 2016 DLA Aviation Hall of Fame. An induction ceremony will be at 1 p.m. June 16 in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center, Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia.

DLA Land and Maritime’s Raytheon Working Group brought home first place in the Productivity or Process Improvement Award category by a team at the 39th Annual Federal Executive Association’s Excellence in Government Awards luncheon.

Federal workers celebrated at annual luncheon

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Federal workers from Columbus and Central Ohio filled the ballroom at Villa Milano May 5 for the 2016 Excellence in Government Awards luncheon. Hosted by the Federal Executive Association, the awards luncheon is held annually in conjunction with Public Service Recognition Week.

Ceremony honors police officers, marks start of National Police Week

RICHMOND, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond’s Police Department observed Peace Officers' Memorial Day in a poignant ceremony in the Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, May 12.

AFCAT team leads technology transfer seminar

RICHMOND, VA — Twenty-two Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employees visited two industrial facilities April 19-20 to gain a better understanding, from a manufacture’s perspective, of issues involved in casting and forging.

May is 9-1-1 Awareness Month at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Fire and Emergency Services stress the importance of what information is needed during emergencies to help first responders when making calls to 9-1-1.

Understand 9-11 call processes, procedures helps emergencies

RICHMOND, Virginia — May is 9-1-1 Awareness Month at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond’s Fire and Emergency Services, as well as the alliance of police, emergency management, anti-terrorism, and other DLA public safety resources are reaching out to the DLA community on the installation to ensure employees and the public are ready to access their help during emergencies.

Aviation Leader Commentary: Warfighter First

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency's No. 1 goal is to deliver innovative and responsive solutions to warfighters first. To me, that means ensuring my fellow service members always have the advantage.

Aspiring para trooper is fitted with the parachute assembly used by service members during flight jumps. Several parents and their kids took the opportunity to harness up as part of their orientation about different jobs parents perform on the installation.

DSCC buzzing with activities as kids celebrate Take Your Child to Work Day

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Under overcast skies the Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Take Your Child to Work Day kicked off in the building 20 auditorium for the more than 150 children ages 9-17 and their parents. Activities included safety presentations to raise awareness, physical activities like dodgeball, basketball, jump rope, and a visit to Land and Maritime’s Electronics Testing Lab.

Defense Supply Center Richmond's annual "Bring Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day" was held April 28, 2016, in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center in Richmond, Virginia. RICHMOND, Virginia — “Take your Daughters and Sons to Work Day” was celebrated at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, April 28. More than 160 children from various Defense Logistics Agency activities on DSCR participated in the annual event, which was sponsored by the Strategic Acquisitions Directorate and the Equal Employment Opportunity Office.
