Agency welcomes seven new honorees into Hall of Fame

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — The Defense Logistics Agency inducted seven honorees into its Hall of Fame in a Sept. 20, 2016, ceremony at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, attended by current and former senior leaders from throughout the agency and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, as well as the families of the honorees.

DLA Distribution headquarters employees gathered to celebrate the 69th birthday of the United States Air Force and to recognize two of DLA Distributions air force reserve employees on Sept. 16.

Distribution headquarters celebrates Air Force birthday

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — DLA Distribution headquarters employees gathered to celebrate the 69th birthday of the U.S. Air Force and to recognize two of DLA Distribution's Air Force Reserve employees Sept. 16.

Paul Zebrowski cited rebuilding the DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles industrial base as the most difficult challenge he faced in his 34 years with the agency.

DLA San Joaquin celebrates Resiliency Day

TRACY, California — Employees of DLA Distribution San Joaquin, Calif., located in Tracy, Calif., kicked off Resiliency Day on Sept. 7, but senior leadership went one step further and declared the entire month of September “Resiliency Month.”

Retired Vice Adm. Al Thompson led DLA Land and Maritime just after 9/11 and took the helm of DLA in 2008.

Director who led DLA support for Iraq surge to join Hall of Fame

Retired Navy Vice Adm. Al Thompson, who led DLA as director at a time when a surge in deployed personnel demanded a surge in critical equipment from DLA — and then led the agency through declining defense budgets — will join the Hall of Fame Sept. 20.

Former POW survived by following code of conduct

PHILADELPHIA — Nothing meant more in captivity than seeing the American flag, a former prisoner of war said about his experience during a POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony Sept.15 at NSA Philadelphia.

Roshad Chatman, a material handler at DLA Distribution Red River, Texas, took advantage of the fitness program, one of DLA’s programs offered to employees to promote resiliency, and began working out at the installation gym to lose 130 pounds after losing his stock selectors license.

Red River’s Chatman makes use of DLA’s Health and Wellness program to lose 130 pounds

RED RIVER, Texas — Roshad Chatman, a material handler at DLA Distribution Red River, Texas, faced a harsh reality when at 409 pounds, he lost his license to drive the stock selector. The stock selector license carries a weight limit of 300 pounds, meaning he would have to lose 109 pounds.

Paula Kluczynski developed and managed DLA's New Supervisor Certificate Program, which has helped transform employees into leaders for more than 12 years—earning her a place in the DLA Hall of Fame.
