But one may wonder who purchased that vest, or that wrench, or even the pen and paper used to take notes in the weekly meetings? That’s where the 18th Contracting Squadron comes through.

Army Brig. Gen. Mark Simerly, DLA Troop Support commander, meets with employees in the Pathways to Career Excellence program Feb. 13. The PaCE program is a two-year training program designed for entry-level personnel in professional, administrative and technological career fields.

Entry-level employees chat with DLA Troop Support commander

PHILADELPHIA — Entry-level employees at the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support assembled to exchange ideas and concerns with their commander Army Gen. Mark Simerly Feb. 13. The meeting’s purpose was to encourage two-way dialogue between the commander and the employees, who are six months into the 24-month Pathways to Career Excellence program.

DLA Aviation commander visits Troop Support

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Linda Hurry visited Troop Support on Feb. 12 where she received an overview of Troop Support supply chain operations and engaged in specific dialogue with Industrial Hardware leadership.

Additive manufacturing, also called 3D printing, gives DLA new options for keeping certain parts available.

DLA team recognized for Corpus Christi Army Depot support

PHILADELPHIA — A DLA team that supports the Corpus Christi Army Depot was recognized for their part in helping keep military helicopters ready for flight. The CCAD Industrial Product-Support Vendor team manages an estimated $135 million contract that ensures 9,140 different parts are readily available to fill approximately 13,000 parts bins.

Every year, for over six weeks, Document Services employees maintain a ‘round-the-clock pace to ensure critical documents reach their recipients before the year ends.

End-of-year printing completed early and on budget

The Defense Logistics Agency completed the 2017 end-of-year printing for Defense Finance and Accounting Service ahead of schedule and on budget, marking the fifth year the agency has done the job. Over 4.8 million tax and account statements, 2.6 million ACA statements, and 2 million Retired and Annuitant newsletters were produced and packaged by DLA over just six and a half weeks.
