Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, was recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as a Star Worksite in safety under OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program Dec. 12, 2016 in a ceremony in the Frank Lotts Conference Center on the installation. The OSHA VPP recognizes employers and workers in federal agencies and in private industry who have implemented effective safety and health management systems and maintain injury and illness rates below national Bureau of Labor Statistics averages for the respective industries.

Culture change leads to Defense Supply Center Richmond earning OSHA safety star status

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, home of Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, DLA Installation Support at Richmond and many other DLA organizations has received star status in safety by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Yokosuka distribution center holds annual Forklift Rodeo and Safety Rally

YOKOSUKA, Japan — Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, hosted their 11th annual Forklift Rodeo and Safety Rally on Nov. 10. Eight teams consisting of 37 participants competed in five events designed to test their safe forklift operating skills.

PHILADELPHIA — More than 50 participants in DLA's Pathways to Career Excellence Program took the next step to a successful career during their graduation ceremony in Philadelphia Dec. 13.

Face of Defense: Sailor Serves as ‘Sheriff of Mess Decks’

Nearly incomprehensible amounts of food are eaten and restocked, yet, without fail the staff has the place looking clean and ready to go again minutes after each torrent fades.

Israeli general officer, logistics chief visits DLA Distribution

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — The general officer in charge of logistics for the Israel Defense Forces visited the largest distribution center in the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution network Dec. 6.

Marine Corps Systems Command Combat Support Systems Equipment Exchange Initiative is exploring new ways to get Marines the equipment they need faster.
