Subsistence team sees Air Force food initiative at Dover AFB

PHILADELPHIA — Subsistence employees visited Dover Air Force Base, Delaware April 27 to learn more about the Air Force's Food Transformation Initiative.

DLA Aviation Richmond's Forging and Casting Action Team led a two-day technology transfer seminar field trip to visit two facilities to see first hand the processes of forging and casting parts, April 19-20, 2016. AFCAT team leads technology transfer seminar

RICHMOND, VA — Twenty-two Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employees visited two industrial facilities April 19-20 to gain a better understanding, from a manufacture’s perspective, of issues involved in casting and forging.

Defense Supply Central Columbus is hosting a variety of events throughout the week of May 15-21 to recognize the significance of Police Week, including a wreath laying ceremony, a 5k run, an information booth, and a cookout honoring the sacrifices made by the men and women who protect the installation.

Police Week to honor, recognize installation officers

Army Brig. Gen. Charles Hamilton, DLA Troop Support commander, thanks members of the American Apparel and Footwear Association May 10 for helping ensure warfighters have the right clothing and protective equipment. Hamilton address AAFA members during their spring meeting in Philadelphia.

Troop Support commander thanks clothing, textiles industry for keeping warfighters in uniform

PHILADELPHIA — The warfighter is always clothed and protected thanks to U.S. manufacturers of textiles, clothing and footwear, the DLA Troop Support commander told American Apparel and Footwear Association members May 10.

Carrots, CrossFit part of agency day to promote health, safety

McNamara Headquarters Complex employees were treated to a wealth of wellness information and demonstrations at the 17th Annual Health and Safety Expo in the cafeteria, while some braved the rain to stock up on produce, hot sauce and baked goods at the Defense Logistics Agency Headquarters weekly farmers' market. Both events took place May 11.

MANAMA, Bahrain — Navy Supply Corps Cmdr. Todd A. Wanack, commander of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Bahrain, has been selected for the rank of captain.

May is 9-1-1 Awareness Month at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Fire and Emergency Services stress the importance of what information is needed during emergencies to help first responders when making calls to 9-1-1.

Understand 9-11 call processes, procedures helps emergencies

RICHMOND, Virginia — May is 9-1-1 Awareness Month at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond’s Fire and Emergency Services, as well as the alliance of police, emergency management, anti-terrorism, and other DLA public safety resources are reaching out to the DLA community on the installation to ensure employees and the public are ready to access their help during emergencies.
