Annual contingency training underway

Defense Logistics Agency personnel from around the country and globe converged on Battle Creek , Michigan, this week to kick off the 2016 edition of Overseas Contingency Operations Readiness Training, or "OCORT."

Old furniture gets new life helping less fortunate

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii — Hundreds of pieces of used barracks furniture will be offered to those in need instead of lying in a landfill thanks to the teamwork between the Defense Logistics Agency, Marine Corps Base Hawaii and a local charity.

Distribution’s Diggs graduates from Martin Luther King Leadership Development Institute with top honors

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Deneen L.M. Diggs, chief of Missions and Manpower within DLA Distribution’s J9 Expeditionary Logistics, graduated salutatorian from the Martin Luther King Leadership Development Institute of Harrisburg, Pa., on June 26.

Employees, family, friends storm beach for Troop Support’s Family Day

WILDWOOD, New Jersey — Thousands of employees, family and friends soaked up the sun on the beach and boardwalk of Wildwood, New Jersey July 7 for DLA Troop Support’s Family Day.

Brad Sparks, a pest controller at DLA checks a mosquito trap to see if any live specimens have been captured. Each week Sparks collects the samples and sends them to a laboratory to test for the presence of the Zika virus.

DLA joins fight against Zika

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime health officials are working with Army entomologists to collect mosquito samples on its installation in Columbus, Ohio, to test for the Zika virus.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Secretary of Defense Ash Carter recently announced that Navy Capt. John T. Palmer, former commander of DLA Distribution Mapping, has been nominated for promotion to the rank of Rear Adm.

Former Defense Logistics Agency Vice Director Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Loren Reno shares his experiences with a group of associates in the Level I Mentoring Program. The program instructs associates in areas such as emotional intelligence, behavior based interviewing, stress management and how to conduct meetings.
