DLA Energy assists Arlington National Cemetery with electricity distribution system

ARLINGTON, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Energy members met with Dominion Virginia Power leaders to follow up on the progress of projects at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, Aug. 31.

Americas at San Pedro personnel demonstrate resiliency

LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Arizona — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Americas at San Pedro, California, employees showed effective distribution management during a supply chain disruption and demonstrated resiliency in the Jet A aviation fuel supply chain at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona.

Employees celebrate women’s right to vote

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency employees gathered to celebrate women’s right to vote and commemorate their struggles and triumphs to gain what today is a fundamental right for Americans during a Women’s Equality Day event held at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Aug. 24.

DLA Energy Pacific’s Army Master Sgt. John Vanderstigchel, DLA Joint Reserve Force, performs a visual inspection on a quart sample of F-76 diesel marine fuel for the DLA Energy Pacific laboratory for quality assurance purposes during RIMPAC 2016. Samples must pass the ‘clear and bright’ test during inspection to ensure optimum quality.

DLA Energy Pacific supports RIMPAC 2016

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Pacific reservists recently conducted annual training while providing critical support to this year’s Rim of the Pacific exercise, June 30 – Aug. 4.

PACIFIC OCEAN (July 29, 2016) – Sailors assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86) conduct an underway replenishment with the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Rappahannock (T-AO 204), during Rim of the Pacific 2016. Twenty-six nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 30 to Aug. 4, in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2016 is the 25th exercise in the series that began in 1971.

DLA Energy Worldwide Energy Conference to return

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — After a seven-year hiatus, Defense Logistics Agency Energy is bringing back the Worldwide Energy Conference to the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland April 10-12, 2017.

A ground crew fuels a Bulgarian C-27 Spartan aircraft at Plovdiv Airport in Bulgaria during Thracian Summer 2016, a joint U.S. and Bulgarian field training deployment exercise held July 9-22. Defense Logistics Agency Energy coordinated the acquisition and delivery of 1.5 million gallons of jet fuel in support of the exercise.

DLA Energy Europe & Africa fuels joint U.S., Bulgarian ‘Thracian Summer 2016’ deployment

FORT BELVOIR, Virgnia — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Europe & Africa provided key support to Thracian Summer 2016, a U.S. Air Force field training deployment to the nation of Bulgaria, July 9 – 22.

DLA Energy command changes hands

A new commander took the helm of DLA Energy July 22, replacing Air Force Brig. Gen. Mark McLeod, who will retire after 30 years of military service.

DLA Energy Pacific at Korea command changes hands

SEOUL, Korea — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Pacific at Korea’s leadership changed hands when Army Lt. Col. Wheeler Manning relinquished command to Army Lt. Col. Faith Chamberlain in Seoul, Korea, June 28.

The 20-story tall Atlas V rocket launches from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, June 24. Defense Logistics Agency Aerospace Energy personnel provided rocket propellant-1 or highly purified kerosene and liquid oxygen for the engine powering the Atlas booster, as well as high purity hydrazine and dinitrogen tetroxide to maneuver and control the payloads once in orbit.

Aerospace Energy contributes to Atlas V launch
