DLA Troop Support supplies pre-made meals for sailors in quarantine

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s Subsistence supply chain received a request from the U.S. Navy for individually wrapped, pre-made sandwiches, salads and breakfast sandwiches in March, said Patricia Scott, chief of DLA Troop Support’s Customer Operations Garrison Feeding Division. These items will go to ships, mostly aircraft carriers, docking in Seattle, Washington; San Diego, California; Norfolk, Virginia; and Mayport, Florida, she said, to feed soldiers in quarantine and limit exposure.

DLA Troop Support expedites disposable gloves to Korea, protects soldiers against coronavirus

As people around the world continue to curtail the spread of COVID-19, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support is helping protect soldiers in Korea with disposable gloves. In late March, the Clothing and Textiles organizational clothing and individual equipment team expedited an emergency order for 30,000 pairs of gloves for the 498th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion in Korea.

Troop Support provides essential supplies to floating hospitals

As the USNS Comfort and Mercy medical staffs care for patients on the East and West coasts, they are using supplies and equipment procured by the various Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support supply chains to perform their mission. The two Navy hospital ships, docked in New York City and Los Angeles, were deployed in March to relieve land-based hospitals overwhelmed by the COVID-19 epidemic.

Despite COVID-19 delays, DLA delivers Seder kits to soldiers in Germany for Passover

An emergency order of Seder kits was held up, partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on its way to help Jewish soldiers with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany, celebrate the Passover holiday. DLA reps maintained constant contact with the Army unit's chaplain throughout the delivery.
