DSCR employee wins gold in 2016 National Veterans’ Wheelchair Games

RICHMOND, VA — Kathy Tilbury brought home four gold medals after competing in the 2016 National Veterans’ Wheelchair Games June 26 – July 2 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She medaled in three swim events, the 100-meter backstroke, 100- and 200-meter freestyle, and Handle Ball bowling.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employee, Marco Walker, customer account specialist with the Customer Operations Directorate, DLA Aviation, Richmond, Virginia said the best part of working at DLA Aviation is being able to support the warfighter. As a former warfighter himself, he understands their urgency and is doing everything possible to help.

DLA Aviation Employee Spotlight: Marco Walker

RICHMOND, Va. — DLA Aviation spotlights Marco Walker, a customer account specialist working in Richmond, Virginia.

The DLA Aviation Customer Operations Directorate's weapons systems program managers, at Richmond, Virginia, strive to keep the H-53 type model series helicopter fleet maintained and up to 100 percent mission ready. The U.S. Navy's MH-53 Sea Dragon is shown performing mine countermeasures using the MK-105 tow sled during operations while demonstrating the U.S. Navy's ability to defend against mine-laying operations and ensure open access to sea lanes.

Aviation’s WSPM team keeps Navy’s MH-53 flying

RICHMOND, Virginia — The U. S. Navy’s MH-53E Sea Dragon became operational in 1986 and is the only heavy-lift helicopter in Naval Aviation. Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Navy Customer Facing Division in the Customer Operations Directorate in Richmond, Virginia, is part of the team helping keep the MH-53 helicopter mission ready.

The three-minute video offers a glimpse of just one way DLA supports the warfighter every day.

RICHMOND, Va. — A new video in the Defense Logistics Agency’s “Logistics On Location” series highlights the support DLA Aviation personnel provide the Army’s 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employee, Annette Smith is a financial management specialist in the Finance Office at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. She enjoys working with employees to resolve pay questions and issues. She enjoys helping others and spends her free time volunteering with inner-city children and at her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation spotlights Annette Smith, a financial management specialist working for DLA Finance Aviation. She said the most satisfying part of her job is helping to resolve employee pay questions and issues

Nicknamed “The Bone,” the B-1B Lancer is a United States Air Force long-range, multi-mission conventional bomber. It has been in service since 1985 and is projected to remain in the Air Force’s fleet of bombers until at least 2040. Defense Logistics Agency Aviation manages roughly 64,000 national stock numbers for the bomber.

RICHMOND, VA — In 1985, Ronald Reagan was sworn in for a second term as president of the United States, Windows 1.0 was released, and the likes of Tears for Fears, Wham! and Chaka Khan ruled the airwaves.“Back to the Future,” “The Color Purple” and “St. Elmo’s Fire” ruled the big screen. And the United States Air Force began flying the B-1B Lancer, a long-range, multi-role, heavy bomber.

DLA Aviation awards May and June EOM recipients

RICHMOND, Virginia — The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation's May Employee of the Month is Keith McEachern, inter-continental ballistic missiles weapon system support manager for DLA Aviation’s Customer Operations Directorate in Richmond, Virginia, and the June EOM is Shante’l Wyche, an acquisition specialist in DLA Aviation’s Supplier Operations Commodities Directorate.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and Defense Supply Center Richmond Commander, Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day greets Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and the Adjutant General of Virginia, Maj. Gen. Timothy Williams to the installation for a ground-breaking ceremony August 17. The Virginia National Guard is set to build a 102,000 square-foot facility on the north side of DSCR. The $30 million project will serve as the National Guard state headquarters.
