DSCR fire department participates in Safety Stand Down 2016

“Safety is everyone’s responsibility,” “Take two for safety,” “Safety is job one,” “Do it safely or don’t do it,” “Our goal is zero injuries,”… there are too many slogans about safety to cover here. No industry, occupation, profession or group of individuals understands the importance of safety more than the fire service. Yet, every year - it often seems that every day - there is an incident where someone is injured, and sometimes killed because a “culture of safety” fails.

Product specialist shares rotation program experience

Organic Manufacturing Product Specialist Rick Williamson, who works in Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Engineering Directorate, was accepted into the 2016 rotation program and took a three-month rotation, March – May, to DLA Distribution San Joaquin in Tracy, California. San Joaquin is DLA’s primary distribution point to the Western contiguous states and the Pacific area for materiel distribution of a wide variety of items.

DSCR fire chief joins USA team for ITU Duathlon World Championship

Don Rodgers, Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia’s fire chief, competed on the USA Team June 4-6 in the International Triathlon Union’s Duathlon World Championship held in Avilȇs, Spain. Rodgers was one of approximately 60 competitors in his 50- to 54-year-old age group competing in the sprint distance duathlon.
