Pumping iron returns to DSCR Fitness Center

Paul Henry, an electrician for Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, seemed like a kid in the candy store as he moved from one piece of equipment to another inside the Fitness Center on DSCR. Working out there is something he hasn’t been able to do since it was shut down in early spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The famed Army General George S. Patton once said, “Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.” This quote is how Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Ogden Air Force Lt. Col. Christopher Carmichael best described his promotion to the rank of Colonel during a ceremony held at the Ogden Air Logistics Complex on Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Oct. 30.

Lead-acid a positive for the environment

Batteries aren’t exactly great for the environment, but recycling is. Employees from Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Richmond, DLA Installation Management Richmond and DLA Disposition Services Richmond, Virginia turned a negative into a positive Oct. 28 when they decided to return over 1,500 lead-acid batteries back to the manufacturer.

In the early part of 2020, my family began planning a family trip to Italy for the spring. We had never been out of the country together. With a son who had just moved back to Virginia and a daughter preparing to move across the country to the West Coast (and pending a husband finally getting his passport), the timing for this vacation felt perfect.

Environmental cleanup efforts on DCSR discussed at virtual quarterly meeting

Community members virtually attended the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond’s Environmental Cleanup Program quarterly Restoration Advisory Board meeting Oct. 19. These meetings have not been held in-person since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
