Puget Sound assists small businesses in discovering opportunities to work with DLA

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility plays an important part in the Defense Logistics Agency Maritime family by serving as the primary advocate for PSNS and IMF supply support in Washington. As part of their outreach efforts, DLA Maritime - Puget Sound was one of 119 vendor booths at the Alliance Northwest Small Business Conference in Puyallup, Washington, March 7.

DSCC was certified as a Tree City USA Feb. 19. The Tree City USA program is a program sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service and state forestry that provides the framework necessary for communities to manage and expand their urban forest.

Army officer honored during retirement ceremony

Family and friends gathered to honor Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Joseph Scarpill during a Jan. 18 retirement ceremony at DSCC. Scarpill served 27 years in the military, finishing his final three years as the deputy division chief for the Land Readiness Division, Customer Operations Directorate, at the DLA Land and Maritime.
