Advocate for deaf community bridges communication gap

The Equal Employment Offices of the McNamara Headquarters Complex tenant agencies hosted a final event to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness month Oct. 25. Katrina Labouliere, a sign language interpreter, spoke to employees about “Creating a Deaf-Friendly Environment.”

Colorado scouts practice “reuse is recycling” mantra with used military goods

Peyton, Colorado — Boy Scout Troop 444 of Peyton, Colorado, takes the motto “be prepared” very seriously, and its scouts rely on DLA Disposition Services to acquire needed equipment.

Army Lt. Col. Paul McCullough, a special projects officer in DLA Troop Support Construction and Equipment, shares his family’s various bouts with life-threatening illnesses and with the assistance they received through CFC charities. DLA Troop Support employees donated more than $136,000 to CFC in 2015.

Employees ‘show some love’ during CFC kickoff event

PHILADELPHIA — A survivor of domestic violence shared how a local charity helped her during DLA Troop Support’s Combined Federal Campaign kickoff event Oct. 13. CFC is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign and DLA Troop Support employees donated more than $136,000 through CFC last year.

Tanya Lee leads the audit readiness human performance team in DLA Finance. She used to travel often for her job, until she began experiencing life-threatening blood clots and heart problems. Lee discovered the source of her strength in faith and fortitude.

Positive attitude, faith lead DLA employee with disabilities to DoD recognition

A DLA employee's courage when faced with a neurological disorder that had doctors giving him only 30 days left to live has been recognized with an award from the secretary of Defense.

Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond, Virginia, Fire and Emergency Services will provide flu shots to Active duty and retired military, civilian and retired employees beginning Oct. 26, 2016 in the Lott’s Conference Center from 8 a.m. to noon. Other dates scheduled are Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon.
