Beyond the CPX-Functional: A Dedicated Sustainment Simulation

This common phrase in the logistics community is one that has been around for some time and is now more salient than ever. In today's combined arms fight, logistics plays a heavy role, but it is one that often gets placed at a lower priority in combined arms training.

Behind the scenes: traffic management specialists play critical role in mission readiness

PORTLAND AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, ORE. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the 142nd Fighter Wing website — Tech. Sgt. Romulus Kocsis is a full-time traffic management specialist for the 142nd Logistics Readiness Squadron at Portland Air National Guard Base. As such, Kocsis is responsible for the shipping and receiving of supplies, directly effecting mission readiness and success on a local and world-wide scale.

An aircrew with the Nebraska Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 104th Aviation Regiment, uses a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter to lower 1,500-pound sandbags into place to stem flooding from a breached levee along the Loup River, Nebraska. More than 340 Guard members have responded to flooding in Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa and other Midwest states.
