HQC employees participate in fitness event to ‘Honor the Warrior’

More than 130 McNamara Headquarters Complex employees dressed for a sunny yet unseasonably chilly 5K run/walk March 27. Participants stretched and warmed up alongside colleagues and then ran, walked and wheeled in support of this year’s theme, “Honor the Warrior.”

Only weeks after mass shootings at a concert in Las Vegas and at a small-town church in South Texas, employees of the Defense Logistics Agency should know DLA and other local first responders are regularly honing their skills in responding to active shooters, as they in did in a Nov. 7 exercise at the McNamara Headquarters Complex and at the agency’s facility in nearby Lorton.

MacDill uses Emergency Management exercise to maintain readiness

MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the MacDill Air Force Base website — On Sept. 13, 2016, personnel from various 6th Air Mobility Wing agencies around MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, participated in an Emergency Management Exercise. The exercise simulated a fuel spill that resulted from a vehicle accident.

DLA joins Air Force, Army to test skills in expeditionary logistics

Amedee Army Airfield, California — A group of 10 DLA personnel joined 125 airmen and 50 soldiers to test their expeditionary-logistics skills in the latest Turbo Distribution exercise.

Crisis exercise tests DLA, Air Force employees in rapid deployment

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency employees joined personnel from the Air Force and U.S. Transportation Command to test their rapid-deployment skills, as well as the system used to deploy logistics personnel to crises around the world, during the “Turbo Distribution” exercise in late October.
