DLA Energy continues support for FEMA Hurricane Irma relief

CAMP BLANDING JOINT TRAINING CENTER, Florida — Defense Logistics Agency Energy’s Task Force Americas relocated from Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia to Camp Blanding Joint Training Center in Starke, Florida to support Federal Emergency Management Agency relief operations there, Sept. 14.

DoD Continues Hurricane Irma Response Operations

WASHINGTON — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Department of Defense website — The Defense Department is well-postured for Hurricane Irma response operations in Florida and continues to assist in efforts throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and other Caribbean locations, a DoD spokesman said.

Two former military trucks, issued by DLA Disposition Services through the 1033 program to Texas law enforcement, depart the Texas Federal State Property San Antonio Office as the sun sets. The next morning the trucks were operating on the east side of Houston rescuing people from flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Maxwell, federal agencies prepare for Hurricane Irma

MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Maxwell Air Force Base website — As Hurricane Irma races across the ocean, hundreds of tractor trailers carrying relief supplies are racing to Maxwell to preposition for further disbursement.

A loadmaster with the 6th Airlift Squadron directs 375th Logistics Readiness Squadron personnel toward a C-17 Globemaster III, which will transport cargo and 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron personnel to Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. to provide medical relief after Hurricane Harvey caused catastrophic floods in the states of Texas and Louisiana, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Aug. 30, 2017. The 375th LRS loaded 6.5 tons of medical supplies onto a C-17 Globemaster III for the nine-person medical team. The 375th AES crew, prepared to provide relief for 30 days, will be staged at Little Rock Air Force Base, where they will pick up high-priority patients from George Bush Intercontinental Airport and transport them to one of seven hospital locations across the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama.
