Call center agents, warehouse workers rush equipment orders for firefighters

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Call center agents and warehouse workers at the Defense Logistics Agency are working 24/7 to connect firefighters with emergency supplies needed to put out wildfires sprawling across millions of acres in California, Arizona, Colorado, Montana and other states.

Deployable civilians needed for deputy commander, operations officer positions on DLA rapid deployment teams

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Civilian volunteers are needed to fulfil deputy commander and operations officer roles for three Defense Logistics Agency Rapid Deployment Teams that will deploy on short notice to assist military and federal agencies during international emergencies and contingencies in 2021.

Troop Support improves international relief readiness through USAID course

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support hosted the Joint Humanitarian Operations Course led by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance in Philadelphia Nov. 13-14.

Virginia Wagner, a 13-year Defense Logistics Agency Distribution employee, is a new member of the DLA Distribution Expeditionary Team. Wagner helped the team get on the road to the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Incident Staging Base at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, Aug. 28 in support of relief efforts for Hurricane Dorian.

621st CRW teams up with joint partners in 'Southeast Asia' for exercise

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center website — Nearly 1.6 million people are still trying to get their bearing after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake ravaged Southeast Asia. After a request for assistance from South Torbia, U.S. Transportation Command calls upon its premier response forces: 621st Contingency Response Wing, 689th Rapid Port Opening Element and the Defense Logistics Agency’s Rapid Deployment Team-Blue. This was the exercise scenario for Turbo Distribution 19-03, held July 18-24, 2019, at Contingency Operating Base Panther in North Vernon, Indiana.

An aircrew with the Nebraska Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 104th Aviation Regiment, uses a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter to lower 1,500-pound sandbags into place to stem flooding from a breached levee along the Loup River, Nebraska. Fuel trucks and trailers are staged at the request of FEMA at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, which served as an incident support base during Hurricane Florence. Items were provided by DLA and overseen by DLA Energy and DLA Distribution personnel.
